The war revealed to us that there were other nations who worshiped God , like the nation of "Melchizedek" , or the nation of Salem Kingdom in Genesis 14:18 , that war revealed to us How "Melchizedek" was advanced than "Abram" to know the living God , he used the wine and the bread on his alter instead of the bloody sacrifice ,Did he know something about the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross afterward by the spirit of the prophetic proclamation ? , We can not assure that , but we assure that "Abram" released that "Melchizedek" is more greater than him ,even the Mosaic inspiration recorded that in Genesis 14:18,19 ,"Melchizedek " was a priest of "The most High God " , and that his blessing to "Abram" reflected the power of the authurity that he have accepted from God ,when he said " Blessed be Abram of the most high God " .

When "Abram" gave "Melchizedek " the tenth of every thing it was a clear confession that "Melchizedek "was advanced than him before God , The writer of the epistle of the Hebrews explained that afterwords .

In concern of the kingdom of Salem or Shalem , there are two proposal places to suggest its original site , the first one in Samaria ,the other second suggested one is in the eastern of Naples , but while they were building the City of David , they called it "Jerusalem "because of their admiration with the old Salem ( the northern people of the Kingdom of Israel pronounced it using the letter "S" , but the southern people pronounced it "SH" , after the division of the Kingdom it became the capital of the sothern kingdom "Judea" ,so most people till today prefer "SH" ) .

Salem or Shalem means Peace, some scholars suggested that "Abram" was the first one who called it by that name due to the victory over the invaders which established the peace for him and the surrouynded people and "Lot"'s family .But its name was "Jebus" .

One person escaped from the war and told "Abram" that "Lot" his brother has taken as a captive (Genesis 14:14) , the titles of Father , Mother ,Son , Daughter ,Sister , Brother were commonly used at that time due to their general meaning not as we use them today .

Using slaves as soldiers in the war revealed the richness of "Abram", He possessed 318 slaves who were prepared to win in the attacking , their numbers and their quality reflected that "Abram" was very rich ,these slaves were included in the heritage of "Abram " to his legal inheritors , according to their legal traditions at Abram's times , the free born sons only who could possess and administrate that wealth , so he was anxious for he hadn't that sons yet .

"Lot" departed "Abram" his uncle , and went to Sodom and Gomorrah ,but God gave "Abram" instead of "Lot" mighty Alliances with a deeper Divine promise , and a son from ":Hagar" and on the plain of Memrah he met God in the shape of man with two persons or angels ,he invited them to his tent , they talked together about "Isac" his son in future , and about Sodom and Gomorrah , "Abram changed to be "Abraham" the father of nations ,"Sarai" changed to be "Sara" .

At the same place "Abraham" accepted the covenant of circumcision ,he and his son "Ismael " and all the men , before the birth of "Isac".

The reasons of establishing the Solidarity Alliances at that time were simple , because the wars at their times were depend on the numbers of the soldiers , the tools were very primitive , so , who possessed a great number of people succeeded , so every elder bought slaves as far as he could to secure his life , but his ability is limited not only because it costs him more money to buy more slaves but because he must secure their food and work due to his well's capacity to plant and develop the cattle and sheep , so his neighboring inhabitants who have a relationship with him ,join together with their slaves during the wars to collect more people to their team .

It was a wise plane to co operate with Melchizedek who protect the back of the army and send a sufficient and depend on God who worship him , also the time and the place of attacking helped them to defeat their enemies , Abram led his Alliance at night , he and his team were experts and had a good experience about the place as they were inhabitants ,so , they defeated them and delivered all the captive and the prisoners , Lot was liberated . .

The wealth which "Abram" has obtained from the pharoah,combined with the real state of poverty of the region , to create a reason of a quarreling between the herdsmen of "Lot" and his herdsmen ,when he returned to "Beth El" or ,"Tel betten" ( Now) ( 1*see H.Th. Frank,"An Archeological Companion To The Bible ".) It was an habitual conflict between the herdsmen at that time ,because of the grass and the fodder ,"Abram" did not use his legal priority as he was elder than "Lot" and his being as his uncle ,(This tradition which led after some time to the tradition of the firstborn son which led after wards to the specialized priesthood or the opportunity of the king ,or the position of the prophet ,I have a research in that concern I will publish it afterwords,)"Abram" left to "Lot " the options to choose another place to live safely without quarreling.
      who study the geography of that area ,assured that it was seen from that place , the cities of "Sodom" ,"Gomorrah","Zoar" etc, they were visible because, the place where "Abram" was standing with "Lot" ,which was called "Beth El" ,was higher than these cities (2*G.A.Smith, "The Historical Geography Of The Holy Lands,1931,National Atlas of Israel [in Hebrew] ", "Lot " saw "Sodom" and "Gomorrah" filled with the plants, and where it was plants, there was a plenty of water and food and wealth , so he chose that place of "Sodom and Gomorrah", but he couldn't see actually the morality of people , from that higher place , where he was standing with his uncle there , he travailed to the east to his chosen places, but his uncle travailed to the west .
   Most of the area of "Sodom"now lies under the "Dead sea" or "The Sea Of Salt" , a small area remains over the sea and became without inhabitants during the 600 years after that events , It has known after that by the name "Bab El Dahra"( 3*see "G.E.Wright ") Wright and the other archeologists, have some evidences that there had been an earthquake at that place ,accompanied by a high explosion ,due to the gases of the petroleum oil well , which was there near "Lot"'s place.
          The Holy Bible records "The First War For Oil In The Human History " When "Lot' co operate with the kings , to seize the well which the Holy Bible called it "The Red well" (see Genesis 14:10) it was full of "Bot-amine" , a black bright liquid substance which looks in the bottom of the well , when reflected the sun shine color , it looks red colored liquid due to the color of the sunshine , .It was under the pressure of the earthquake, it exploded with its gasses and oils, to burn all the area .
           "lot " lost all of his properties and all his dreams of wealth,he lost also his daughters and their husbands, he lost his wife ,even the two daughters of him , gave him a wine to drink to conceive him,so, they born for him two sons "Ben Ami" and "Moab"( Genesis 19:38).
   Without the help of his uncle "Abram" who saved him from the captivity, to avoid the real death as a slave under the orders and rules of his masters ,who won the war over him , how did he can obey the leading of the two angels , if he was a slave ?, he has chosen the plenty of water and plants and wealth,but in vain.

The archeological discoveries at "Lachish" and "Megiddo",have proved that the great Pharaoh "Amenemhat I" , who established the XII Dynasty 1991-1961 B.C, built the castles in the Palestinian Lands at the eastern gate of Egypt after he had completed his agricultural projects inside his country .

As a point of view , we observe that the bible did not mentioned horses between the things which the pharaoh have given it to "Abram", because it was before the "Hyksos"ages , who brought them from Asia , in spite of he mentioned the Donkeys and the Camels .
As a spiritual point of view , the fact that "Abram" did not say the complete truth, before the pharaoh ,It was a fact that"Sarai" was a sister of "Abram",it was a truth ,because after the death of her father "Haran" the son of "Tarah", who is the father also of "Abram" ,"Tarah" became her respected father ,according to the tradition of that place at that period , but it was a half of the fact , because the rest of the fact was that "Tarah" also gave "Sarai" to "Abram " as a wife , his fears from completing this facts before Pharaoh, reflected some spiritual weakness in the life of "Abram" at that circumstance , because when God interfered by beating Pharaoh and his house , he revealed that ,the fear of "Abram" was not a real caused fear .
God's interference revealed also the tolerance of his majesty, before the weakness of the man who was been created from dust .

The Journey of "Abram" to Beth El and The Plain of Moreh

"Abram" was 75 years old when he began his trip to the "Holy Lands" , he accompanied his wife "Sarai" and his slaves ,cattle and sheep with "Lot" the son of his late brother "Haran", therefore "Lot" then was his respected brother, as he was a respected as a son of "Tarah" , "Abram's" father , "Lot" also was the brother of "Abram's" wife , he accompanied "Abram" with his wife, slaves, cattle and sheep , they went towards the western east , to "Sichem", It's name was "Luz" during the times of "Abram", but "moses as an inspired writer called the places according to the names, which were popular in his times, in order to enable the people to know it, and follow his ideas (see Judges 1.23).
The city of "Sichem" now is "Tell Balata". At "Abram" times it was an "Oak tree of Morah"there , It was known that, the oak trees have a good shadow, because it was an aged tree , a high tree ,with thick branches, which absorbed the heat of the son rays , it was 31 mile north of "Jerusalem" where the mount of "Gerzeem" ,5.5 miles southern east of "Samaria", the inhabitants who lived there during that period were "Canaanite " people .
"Mme , Marquet Krause"(1* see H.T. Frank " An Archaeological Companion to the Bible ) have found three old walls for the city of " Tel Betteen"( the modern name of the old "Beth El" ) it was clear that every wall was destroyed as a result of attacking , they related to different ages , the oldest one refer to 2200 years B.C , and she found also, an old sanctuary related to the same period . "Beth El " was far from "Jerusalem by 12 miles in the northern direction , and far from "Sichem" by 19 miles in the souther direction .
So "Abram and his folk departed the "Oak" after sometimes of rest, towards the south and passed from "Beth El"towards "Ai" , but at the middle of the distance between "Beth El " and "Ai" , "Abram" built a sanctuary to God, who appeared to him . It was appeared that he walked towards the south direction, by the leading of God, from place to another ,"Abram" himself knew nothing about the way, but he was obedient to God's leading .
But the economic state weakened "Abram", he himself thought without God's leading, that it was better to him to go to "Egypt", to solve his economic problems , but the faithfulness of God did not leave him, to hurt himself with his group, so God interfere as we shall see . leave a comment . thanks . The journey of "Tarah" the father of "Abram" from "Ur" north of "Albasra"(now),to "Haran " north of Euphrates river near one of its branch's source far from "Aleppo"(today) with one hundred miles . It was a journey which explained to us two things :- First ,The travelling across the desert to find a new Place to live were an habitual behavior at that time , when "Abram" did it later to travel to "Canaan" ,it was not a strange behavior, so "Tarah" traveled with his family, It was the habit of the people who lived between the two great civilizations , " Egypt " and "Mesopotamia", it was not any centric government at that area to deal with the citizenship affairs , every family had a private governor ,or the old father of the family ,who had a well of water , and a limited area of grass for the sheep ,the traveler across the land ,who did not care of these simple properties was an usual guest .

Second:-God himself who design the plane ,of how "Abram" could travel to "Canaan" (according to God's agreement with "Abram " who was not yet new the purpose of his future journey ), It was impossible for "Abram" or any one to travel across the southern desert of Syria ,although it was shorter than the way from "Haran " to Canaan" because,the lake of water and rest places , even shadows to rest,but from "Haran " to "Canaan" it was a common roads , and a plenty of water with many rest places .So God worked in the heart of "Tarah",and with the necessities of the family to help, in paving the way for the next journey of "Abram" in Genesis 15.7 God said " I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur" , therefore the journey of "Tarah " was in God's plane ."Tarah" was seventy years old, but it seemed that that age was the age of youthfulness , because "Abram" did not told "Pharaoh" after that about the relation of marriage between him and "Sarai " and used the other relation with her as a sister ,because she was attractive in the age of ninety ,This relationship of marriage with His Wife and Sister occurred as part of the story of "Tarah's" journey , because when "Haran" the son of "Tarah" dead ,he left his son "Lot" and his daughters "Iscah" and Milcah"to his father who became their father according to the tradition of that age,"Nuzi " and Mari" manuscripts , told us that if a son dead and his father was still alive , the father would be their father ,he ought to prepare his daughters for marriage, because the future husband would pay some money for the father ,who might give his daughter some sheep and other things , and bought a slave for her , if she could not bore a boy for her husband , she would give him the slave ,for fear from another marriage with another woman who would bear a boy , therefore we found "Sarai - Hagar" and also "Leah, Rachel- Bilha,Zilph".

According to 1*Josephus (Ant1.6),we new that "Tarah " hold the marriage of his son " Abram" with "Iscah" who called her "Sarai" because the tradition gave the right for the husband to call his wife with a new name , also "Nahor " with "Milcah" or "Maacah" therefore "Lot " accompanied "Abram" in his journey as her brother and at the same time "Abram" was his true uncle and his brother in law .

At last the amazing thing that "Nahor's" wife bore many sons while "Sarai" could not , the youngest child of both "Nahor" and "Milcah" was "Bethuel" who grew up and married , and have a son called "Laban",but when he was about to accept his second child "Rebecca", God gave "Abram" and "Sarai" a boy called "Isac" , he was a suitable husband for "Rebecca", she was a wife of her father's uncle , therefore the Journey of "Tarah " was very important in the social,spiritual future life of "Abram" it was a strange journey , to the north near the kingdom of "Nemroud" who established "Babel", he was the first man who used his strength to create The private earth possession , and became the first king in the human history, it was the sin of "Babel", the desire of possession, by force , the differences between the nations , but at the time of "Tarah" he was dead many centuries ago , the king who sat on his thrown was "Amraphel" the king of Shinaar . please comment . The chapter eleven in the Book of Genesis after telling us about the story of Babel's Tower and the cofound of the different human languages , The Palegian people ( according to Peleg the son of Eber ) spoke the Hebrew . Peleg's son was Reu who has a son called Serug , Serug was the father of Nahor who called his son Tarah . At last Tarah was the father of Abram or Abraham and Haran and Nahor . Therefore Abraham was the twentieths person from Adam . He was in the Middle history between Adam and Jesus Christ .
